Classroom Respect for Others
In the computer lab we treat others the way we want to be treated. When you are in the computer lab, please follow these simple rules:
Be Responsible! Act in a manner that makes a person worthy of trust and confidence.
Be Honest!! Tell the truth about things and feeling with yourself and others.
Be Respectful!! Be careful when using the computers and other hardware. Don't bang on anything...or use them in any harmful manner.

P.S. 122Q's Acceptable User Policy
Things not acceptable on the Internet in school:
1. You may not request or provide any personal information. Ex. name, phone number, address, age, etc.
2. You may not receive email or “chat”.
3. You may not login or enter any type of username or password on any site whether to play games or otherwise unless instructed to by your teacher.
4. You may not view photos, language or listen to music of inappropriate, inflammatory, or of hateful content.
5. You may not use material from a website without properly noting the source.
6. You may not use the Internet for personal business or commercial purposes.
7. You may not enter websites containing games of a violent nature.
Should inappropriate images, language, etc. appear on your computer, please notify the teacher in charge whether in the classroom, library or computer lab. (The filter is NOT perfect!) Please note that the teacher and administration reserve the right to revoke the Internet access or use of any person who uses the DOE connections or equipment in an inappropriate, abusive or illegal manner, or in violation of the Department’s policy on access to and use of the Internet or of Local, State or Federal Law. Violators of this policy may be subject to disciplinary and/or legal action.

Don't Respond
You will empower the bully if they know they are bothering you.
Don't Retaliate
Don't get back at the bully. It will only reinforce their behavior.
Save the Evidence
Always save any signs of harassment, in case things get worse.
Block the Bully
If the harassment is coming from texts, instant messaging, or profile comments, do your best to block the bully.

Find a trusted adult to help out with your situation.

Internet Safety Tips
- I will not give out personal information such as my address, telephone number, parents’ work address/telephone number, or the name and location of my school without my parents’ permission.
- I will tell my parents right away if I come across any information that makes me feel uncomfortable.
- I will never agree to get together with someone I "meet" online without first checking with my parents. If my parents agree to the meeting, I will be sure that it is in a public place and bring my mother or father along.
- I will never send a person my picture or anything else without first checking with my parents.
- I will not respond to any messages that are mean or in any way make me feel uncomfortable. It is not my fault if I get a message like that. If I do I will tell my parents right away so that they can contact the service provider.
- I will talk with my parents so that we can set up rules for going online. We will decide upon the time of day that I can be online, and appropriate areas for me to visit. I will not access other areas or break these rules without their permission.
- I will not give out my Internet password to anyone (even my best friends) other than my parents.
- I will be a good online citizen and not do anything that hurts other people or is against the law.
